Treatment Steps
STEP 1: CONSULTATION
Start with a personalized consultation to discuss your goals, evaluate your needs, and determine if you’re a good candidate for Sofwave™. Your Aethos provider will discuss your options, which may include Sofwave™ as a standalone procedure or in conjugation with liposuction. We will review our anesthesia offerings and which is best suited for you if needed.
Step 2: Sofwave™ Session
Your provider will apply a numbing cream to ensure your comfort. The Sofwave™ handpiece will then be moved over your skin to treat small sections at a time. Most experience a warming sensation in each area, which intensifies but is managed by moving the device to another section before it becomes uncomfortable. The treatment typically lasts 45 minutes, depending on the areas being addressed.
Step 3: Minimal Downtime
There is minimal to no downtime after your treatment, so you can resume work or other activities right after Sofwave™. You might experience some redness and warmth that could last a few hours. However, these effects are unlikely to disrupt your daily routine, making Sofwave™ a convenient option for busy individuals.

How does Sofwave™ work?
Sofwave™ employs focused ultrasound energy, similar to that used in body scans, but directs it precisely at small, targeted areas. This approach intensifies energy delivery to the deeper layers of your skin. The SUPERB™ (Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam) technology enhances results while cooling the skin for added comfort.
The ultrasound energy is absorbed as heat by the dermis, stimulating fibroblast cells to boost collagen production. Additionally, the heat causes collagen fibers to contract, providing a lift. Over time, these collagen improvements smooth and tighten your skin.
