Treatment Steps
STEP 1: CONSULTATION
Start with a personalized consultation to discuss your goals. Your Aethos provider will review your concerns and educate you on each step throughout the treatment.
Step 2: Ellacor® Session
Your provider will numb the treatment area and move the Ellacor® device over the skin. The tiny needles suction out micro-cores in a grid-like pattern. We can adjust the intensity of treatment depending on your needs, removing more or less skin. At higher intensity, Ellacor® can remove up to 8% of skin in the treatment area.
Step 3: Post-Treatment
After the treatment, we’ll apply topical plasma Growth Factor to your skin to soothe it and promote healing. This is a solution made from your own blood that’s full of growth factors and stem cells. There may be pinpoint bleeding immediately after an Ellacor® treatment, but the tiny punctures already begin to close by the time you leave our office.
Step 3: Minimal Downtime
Generally, patients take a few days to a week of downtime. You may expect swelling, redness, and minor discomfort. Your provider will give you detailed instructions and products to help keep the treatment area clean and moisturized for the first 5-7 days. Avoid makeup for the first 72 hours after treatment. You should limit sun exposure and use sunscreen to protect your skin.

How does Ellacor® work?
Ellacor® is often performed on the lower or mid-face, or it can be used as a spot treatment for small areas of concern. It can also treat wrinkles and skin laxity on the body.
Similar to microneedling, the Ellacor® handpiece has small needles at the end. Rather than just puncturing the skin, however, these needles remove tiny cores of skin. Each core is less than half a millimeter in diameter: small enough that the damage starts healing immediately and requires no bandaging.
This micro-coring process stimulates a healing response that increases collagen production, just like microneedling. Removing a small amount of skin has an even greater tightening effect. As excess skin is removed and your body quickly seals the tiny openings, your skin’s surface is drawn smoother and tighter. Ellacor® helps minimize wrinkles and tighten the skin for a rejuvenated appearance.
Who is a good candidate for Ellacor®?
Ellacor® is most effective for patients with mild to moderate laxity and crepey skin, often middle-aged patients or those who want to avoid surgery. We’ll evaluate your condition, goals, and medical history during a detailed consultation to help you determine if Ellacor® is right for you. Ellacor® may not be recommended for patients who are pregnant or nursing, have certain medical conditions, take certain medications, or have open wounds or facial implants in the treatment area.
