Aveli™
Offered at Flatiron location only
Aveli™ effectively targets dimpling cellulite by releasing the fibrous bands responsible for the dimpling. Once these septae are severed, they no longer pull on the skin, allowing the dimples to smooth out. While there are several cellulite treatments being touted, Aveli™ stands out for its precision in treating dimpling cellulite. It enables providers to accurately locate and cut only the septae causing dimpling, minimizing unnecessary damage to surrounding tissue

Why Aethos
Dr. Rapaport and his team have extensive knowledge and experience in body contouring and cellulite reduction. After just one treatment with Aveli™, you can expect a significant lasting reduction in the appearance of your cellulite. Most patients see smoother skin within two weeks of their procedure, and optimal results in approximately three months when any swelling subsides.
Treatment Steps
STEP 1: CONSULTATION
Start with a personalized consultation to discuss your goals. Your Aethos provider will review your cellulite and dimple concerns and visual goals, ensuring that Aveli™ is right for you. They will educate you on each step throughout the treatment.
Step 2: Aveli™ Session
Your Aethos provider will mark each dimple to be treated. This treatment can be conducted with local anesthesia for your comfort. After the anesthesia takes effect, one of our surgeons will make a small incision, insert the Aveli™ device beneath the skin, and deploy a small hook allowing your surgeon to identify the septae causing the dimples. We will then use a retractable blade on the device to carefully sever the septaseptae, releasing the tension creating the dimples.
Step 3: Minimal Downtime
This minimally invasive procedure requires no general anesthesia, resulting in minimal downtime. While mild bruising, soreness, and swelling are expected, most patients can resume daily activities within a day or two. Avoid intense exercise for at least a week. Any discomfort is generally manageable with over-the-counter pain relief for a few days.

Aveli™ FAQs
How does Aveli™ work?
Aveli™ addresses cellulite by releasing the fibrous bands responsible for its formation. By severing these bands, or septa, the skin’s surface smooths out as the tension is relieved. While many treatments use a similar method to cut the septa, Aveli™ stands out for its precision. It enables providers to pinpoint and cut each septum causing dimples without impacting surrounding tissue, thereby reducing unnecessary damage.
The procedure generally involves just two to four small incisions, which are discreetly placed in the crease under the buttocks or over existing scars or stretch marks. The Aveli™ device allows surgeons to accurately cut the septa, releasing the fibrous bands that pull on the skin, resulting in visible, long-lasting improvements in skin smoothness and a reduction in the appearance of cellulite.
If you are also struggling with stubborn fat and skin laxity, we will likely recommend additional treatments to address these concerns. Based on your personal goals and anatomy, your consultant and provider will help you choose the appropriate solution.
Aveli can be paired with treatments as mild as: Sofwave™, RESONIC™, Hyper Dilute Sculptra or Radiesse®, or may involve other modalities such as Liposuction and internal energy treatments, such as BodyTite or Renuvion.
You may be a good candidate for CoolTone® abdominal treatments if you experience back pain. This treatment can help strengthen the core to improve overall fitness and overall health.
What can I expect during Aveli™ treatment?
Your Aveli™ procedure will be performed under local anesthesia to ensure your comfort. Initially, we will mark each dimple to be treated, as they may be less visible once you lie down. After you are settled and the anesthesia has taken effect, one of our surgeons will make a small incision to insert the Aveli™ device beneath the skin, where it will deploy a tiny hook. This hook allows the surgeon to precisely locate the septa causing the dimples.
The surgeon will then use a retractable blade on the device to carefully cut the septa, relieving the tension on the skin. Afterward, the hook will be used again to confirm that the targeted dimple or line has been effectively released.
Including the time for local anesthesia, the entire in-office procedure typically lasts about one hour. For treating multiple areas of cellulite, the procedure may extend up to two hours.
Is there any downtime with Aveli™?
It is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require general anesthesia, resulting in minimal downtime. While mild bruising, soreness, and swelling are common, most patients can return to their usual activities within a day or two, though it’s recommended to avoid intense exercise for at least a week. Any discomfort can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain medication for a few days. Aveli™ stands out among other subcision techniques for cellulite due to its precision, which leads to fewer side effects and less discomfort.

Why should I choose Aethos for Aveli™?
Our providers are widely experienced in locating each septae that causes dimpling and cutting it without affecting the rest of the septa. We always ensure to mark each dimple prior to treatment, which minimizes unnecessary damage to surrounding tissue. With precision, we use a retractable blade on the device to carefully sever the septae, releasing the tension that creates the dimples. Moreover, we recheck the area with the hook to confirm that the targeted dimple or line has been successfully released. Using this thorough approach, our providers strive to deliver a safe and optimal treatment of Aveli™.
