Treatment Steps
STEP 1: CONSULTATION
Start with a personalized consultation to discuss your goals. Your Aethos provider will assess your facial expressions and movement, thoroughly mapping target areas for neuromodulator use.
Step 2: Injectable Session
Your treatment session will last between 20-30 minutes on average. Most patients undergo their injections without numbing cream or medication, but we offer a full range of options so your experience is a tolerable and positive one.
Step 3: Minimal Downtime
While bruising can occur with injections, we take careful measures to minimize its likelihood. Our providers routinely use a specialized laser vein finder that visualizes each patient’s veins on the face to thereby avoid veins upon injecting. Moreover, we ensure to apply pressure and ice following injection to prevent bruising.

How do wrinkle relaxers work?
Wrinkle Relaxers (aka Tox, neuromodulators, NM, botulinum toxins) reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles that are caused by your muscle movements. By reducing the activity of these muscles, neuromodulators can reduce or eliminate dynamic wrinkles, depending on your preference, and in so doing, reduce or even prevent the formation of permanent folding, lines, and wrinkles.
What can I expect during Tox treatment?
Your treatment session will last between 20-30 minutes on average, although some visits may take as long as an hour if multiple injectables are used or other modalities are incorporated into your treatment. Patients who are extremely sensitive to small injections may request the use of numbing cream. For patients with anxiety regarding needles, our expert injectors are happy to offer a variety of techniques to minimize discomfort, ranging from topical numbing to Pro-Nox™ (laughing gas) to potent short acting oral anti-anxiety and analgesic medications, and IV sedation (twilight anesthesia) when appropriate
Is there any downtime with wrinkle relaxers?
There is little to no downtime with wrinkle relaxers. It is recommended to avoid exercise for the first 12 hours post-treatment. As with any injection there is a possibility of bruising, but the likelihood of bruising is minimized thanks to our providers’ advanced injectable techniques.
